Medical malpractice is when a physician deviates from the reasonable standard of care that other physicians or surgeons would have exercised.

In July of 2000 Dr. Barbara Starfield, MD, MPH of Johns Hopkins wrote an article which was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association which reported that medical errors may be the third leading cause of death in the United States. (JAMA Vol. 284, No. 4, July 26, 2000). The report indicated that there were up to 225,000 iatrogenic deaths per year associated with substandard medical care. These statistics do not include injuries caused by negligence medical care.

The attorneys of Pagel Weikum, PLLP are experienced in carefully evaluating and handling medical negligence cases.
